Montecchio Maggiore has always been tied to the world of well-being due to its proximity to reknowned Recoaro Terme, a thermal site already highly appreciated by the Romans and even prior to their time.
The area of Montecchio Maggiore is rich in history and offers plenty of routes to discover. In just a few dozen kilometers surrounding this area, you can find large and small cities and towns with marvellous monuments and mouth-watering local gastronomic and wine traditions.

We recommend the visit to the cities of VICENZA, RECOARO, LONIGO, MONTAGNANA, and ESTE

The oldest archaeological discoveries date back to the eneolithic era; that is between the end of the Stone Age and the beginning of the Bronze Age. The anthropic findings, which are surprisingly intact, were all found within the area of the castles of Montecchio and in the surrounding plains. These findings can in fact be traced back to this period or to the ones immediately following, and include numerous flints, scrapers, bracelets, arrows and various lithic artefacts.
